MaryJane served as an inadvertent experiment to see how extreme I could make a female character. MJ is supposed to be a six-foot-plus tower of seduction, but my earlier drawings of her were too masculine and too scary. It took years to finally get her to look even remotely the way she should.

In addition, MaryJane is now brandishing two whips that are reminiscent of the lightsabers used in Star Wars, however they can transform into almost 10 other weapons (including broadswords, shields, triple-bladed katars), making her combat potential even more formidable.
