Anthony Volpe
Anthony is the main force behind Downtown Uptown and created (and voices) the majority of its residents. He began drawing at the age of four and hasn’t stopped since. Volpe resurrected the characters from his childhood in 2004 for this site, adding new ones along the way.

Anthony currently works as a graphic artist and front-end web designer in the Philadelphia Suburbs. His online endeavors such as this site, his videogames, and his musical projects constitute the majority of his hobbies, but he has been known to go dancing, write fiction, and perform Elton John songs at Karaoke bars as it suits his whims.

Frank W. Zammetti
Anthony Volpe met Long Island native Frank W. Zammetti several years ago online when the two of them worked on the internet as pro-wrestling dirt-sheet writers. The two of them have been collaborating off and on with several music and videogame endeavors since their departure from the “internet wrestling community.”

Frank is responsible for co-creating Krelmac and Gentoo, the two aliens who serve as Downtown Uptown’s criminal element. Frank also serves as the voice of Krelmac and lends a hand in writing some of the cartoons on this site.

He lives in the Philadelphia suburbs now with his wife and two children. On his spare time he creates award-winning videogames featuring Krelmac and Gentoo, watches sci-fi, writes fiction, and eats gallons of lentil soup at a time.

Jessica Calvello
Texas native Jessica Calvello is best known for her English animé voiceover work, landing huge lead roles in Cutey Honey, Those who Hunt Elves, and Dirty Pair as well as making appearances in over 40 other titles. She also provided the voice of Dr. Yoshimoto in the Sci-Fi Network’s edgy online cartoon Chi-Chian and is the official model for japanesesnacks.com.

However it was her scene-chomping performance as Excel Excel in Excel Saga that sent Anthony groveling at her feet begging her to do voiceovers for Downtown Uptown. Out of either pity, a lapse in judgment, boredom, or all three, she agreed to voice Fred Smiley’s hairball-brained secretary, Catrina, and also performed voice work for Anthony’s videogame Spinshot, assuming the role of Gryphon's intimidating ex-girlfriend, Holo Cavalera.

Jessica lives in Manhattan and performs regularly in numerous stage productions in the NYC area. She also claims she can kick Anthony Volpe’s ass in SoulCalibur II, but that remains to be seen.

Amy Bean
Amy Bean met Anthony Volpe at a Karaoke contest several years ago. After a rousing rendition of "Cabaret," she later went to a diner with Mr. Volpe and threatened to make him "wear" her coffee after he and her husband began talking like invalids to the other patrons.

Now Amy provides the voice of Brenda Bubey for the Downtown Uptown Flash cartoons. She also provided the voices of Chamber and several other characters for Anthony Volpe's Spinshot videogame.

Amy does stage work in the Philadelphia area and also performs as one half of an acoustic band.

Jim Ether
Jim Ether voices Fauntleroy Appleton Blatherskite III, Esq. in the Downtown Uptown Flash cartoons. Anyone who frequents Newgrounds.com is already quite familiar with him. Jim's Flash cartoons, music, and home movies have earned him a sizable cult following.

Residing in the Boston area, Jim Ether made music with several others under the name Random Access Crew in the late 1990's and since then has produced an absolutely enormous amount of music on his own. His music has been compared to Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Squarepusher. His Flash cartoons on Newgrounds, most of which are animated and soundtracked entirely by Jim, have recently been compiled onto a DVD called Alert. Jim also created a series of hilarious movies starring himself called Poem Time, featuring Jim reading coffeeshop poetry at his desk, attempting to make candy soup in a crock pot and actually eating it, being tormented by a knife-throwing tomato puppet named Timmy, and feeding ducks (in-between visits to the men's room to do unspeakable things with anonymous truck drivers).

Most of Jim's artistic endeavors are on display at his website, Perisarc.
