Welcome to the home of Fred Smiley and the rest of the Downtown Uptown universe.

Downtown Uptown was a comic strip created by Anthony Volpe in the mid 2000's that was an attempt to resurrect scores of cartoon characters from his childhood. It also serves as the de-facto home of its two most popular characters: the genocidal aliens known in the PocketPC gaming circles as Krelmac and Gentoo.

As work on the comic strip ramped up, Anthony Volpe created an eight-minute-long Flash cartoon featuring himself voicing most of the characters, Frank Zammetti reprising his role as Krelmac, and legendary voice actress Jessica Calvello voicing the comic's hairball-brained female protagonist, Catrina.

Volpe and Zammetti had major plans to expand the DU universe. Sadly, Volpe had to put the comic and its characters into a state of indefinite retirement due to time constraints. Volpe plans on resurrecting some of the characters and casting them as the stars of several video games he has on the back burner.
